The state government of Colima has announced a complete nighttime closure of the La Salada highway segment, scheduled for Sunday, August 9, Monday, August 10, and Tuesday, August 11. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Mobility (Seidum), these temporary suspensions are necessary to facilitate ongoing modernization work on the Colima-Manzanillo Logistics Corridor.
The traffic restrictions will be in effect nightly across all three dates, starting precisely at midnight and ending at 5:00 in the morning. During these closure windows, heavy freight vehicles will be required to travel exclusively via the toll highway in both directions. Meanwhile, light passenger vehicles must utilize the La Salada free road and designated alternative routes.
State transportation authorities strongly advise drivers to plan their itineraries ahead of time, allow for extra travel time, and review available transit paths through the official web portal routesalternas.col.gob.mx. Commuters are also urged to respect road signs and follow the directions of deployed personnel to prevent delays and ensure safety while construction projects continue.
