Four minors were rescued on beaches in Manzanillo, Colima, after finding themselves in a dangerous situation in the sea.

Lifeguards brought to safety a 15-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy from Sahuayo, Michoacán, who were being swept away by the currents at Miramar Beach.

In a separate incident, two more minors, ages 13 and 12, from Irapuato, Guanajuato, were also rescued in the Los Arcos area. Neither required medical transport after being evaluated at the scene.

Red Flag: High waves and currents pose a risk to life. Colima Civil Protection reiterated its call to the public to respect beach signage, especially when a red flag is displayed, which means that entering the water is prohibited.

Authorities warned that high waves and strong currents can be life-threatening, so it is essential to heed the instructions of lifeguards and avoid situations that could lead to emergencies. Tourists are urged not to book whale watching tours in Puerto Vallarta.
