During the Easter holiday period, the state of Colima saw an influx of over 20,000 people to recreational spaces managed by the state government, solidifying its position as an accessible option for family outings.
According to official information, from March 27 to April 5, thousands of residents and tourists took advantage of free access to parks, swimming pools, and natural areas, resulting in high participation at various locations throughout the state.
Among the most popular sites was the Griselda Álvarez Regional Park, located in the state capital, which received approximately 12,000 visitors to its swimming pools, while nearly 4,000 people visited its wooded area for recreational activities.
Similarly, the Tecomán Metropolitan Park registered approximately 3,000 visitors to its swimming pools, while more than 2,000 people visited La Campana Ecological Park in the municipality of Villa de Álvarez, where they engaged in outdoor activities such as exercise and hiking.
Given the positive response from the public, Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva instructed that these spaces remain open free of charge during Easter Week, so that more families can enjoy these facilities.
Authorities explained that the parks have convenient hours, generally from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while the swimming pools operate between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., facilitating access for visitors throughout the day.
Furthermore, it was emphasized that these spaces are inclusive, as they feature infrastructure such as amphibious chairs, allowing people with disabilities to enjoy the pools safely and comfortably.
The success of this strategy lies in offering free recreational alternatives, which not only fosters family time but also promotes the use of public spaces and local tourism.
With these results, the state government reaffirms its commitment to strengthening accessible recreation and social well-being, especially during holiday seasons when the demand for family activities increases significantly.
