Three days have passed since Kevin Jared Moreno, a tourist from Jalisco, was swept away by the sea in Cuyutlán, Colima, and there is still no news of his whereabouts.

Authorities from the State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) of Colima have been conducting various search efforts to locate Kevin. On the third consecutive day, rescuers entered the sea of Cuyutlán aboard various aquatic units to search for him. Civil Protection agents from Manzanillo, Tecomán, and Armería, along with elements from Jalisco, have joined the search efforts.

Kevin Jared Moreno, originally from Cocula, Jalisco, and another companion were swept away by strong waves while swimming near the Cuyutlán turtle farm in the municipality of Armería last Thursday morning. While his companion was rescued, Kevin fought against the waves but could not be saved and has not been located since.

Kevin’s relatives have shared his photograph on social media and requested the support of Cuyutlán residents to help locate him as soon as possible.

Following this incident, the State Civil Protection Unit of Colima has reminded tourists of the importance of avoiding entering the sea where there is no signaling flag or lifeguard.
