The Colima State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) reports in a press release that the Volcán de Fuego (Volcano of Fire) remains calm and stable during the week of Friday, May 22 to Thursday, May 28, 2026, maintaining a low risk level for the population.
Based on the most recent report issued by the University Center for Volcanological Studies (CUEV) of the University of Colima, seismometers recorded three high-frequency earthquakes and three landslides, with no explosions. Emissions of steam and gases from the northeast side of the crater remain stable, reflecting minimal volcanic activity.
The UEPC reiterated that specialized personnel are conducting continuous monitoring of the volcano’s activity and urged residents and tourists to stay informed only through official media and channels.
