Manzanillo, Col., December 27, 2024.- The Municipal President of Colima, Riult Rivera Gutiérrez, visited the municipality of Manzanillo to announce the “Colima Resplandece” festival, an event that will take place on December 31 and January 1, 2025, in the Libertad garden and that promises to become one of the main tourist attractions at the end of the year in the state capital.
During a press conference, in which he was accompanied by the Undersecretary of Tourism of the State, Jorge Padilla, and the President of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Colima, Arturo Sánchez, the municipal president Riult Rivera highlighted the importance of seeing Colima as an emerging and accessible tourist destination for visitors from the entire region.
«Colima belongs to all the municipalities of our state, and ‘Colima Resplandece’ is an open invitation to the families of Manzanillo and the entire region to enjoy a different and novel setting,» said the mayor of the capital.
He explained that the ‘Colima Resplandece’ festival will feature a fireworks show, drones, laser lights, live music and the participation of two international groups, Kumbia Kings and Grupo Palomo, as well as local artists, who will be participating from 7:00 p.m. on December 31.
“We want attendees to enjoy not only the show, but also a complete experience that includes food, drinks and activities for the whole family, such as the ice rink and the illuminated figures for taking photos and videos,” added the president.
In an effort to position itself as a tourist alternative, the Government headed by President Riult Rivera seeks to consolidate itself as an attractive destination for everyone with this event.
He pointed out that hotel occupancy has already reached 85%, and it is expected that by December 31 it will reach 100%. “These types of activities strengthen the local economy and promote social coexistence. Colima is positioning itself as a friendly, warm place full of tourist options,” said the mayor.
For his part, Jorge Padilla, State Undersecretary of Tourism, explained that since the beginning of the state administration, work has been done to promote the creation of innovative events that benefit both communities and cities, especially in the economic area, and added that events such as ‘Colima Resplandece’, just as it happens in the port with Manzanillo se Ilumina, which this year celebrates 20 years of existence, will offer a great economic spillover for the tourism sector, guaranteeing that hoteliers and restaurateurs see a positive impact on their businesses that translates into benefits for the population.
During his speech, the President of the Association of Hotels and Motels of Colima, Arturo Sánchez, also showed enthusiasm for the event, highlighting that this type of festivals not only promote tourism, but also generate employment and strengthen the local economy.
He recognized the teamwork between the state and municipal governments to generate favorable conditions for the realization of such attractive events as this one of Colima Resplandece.
Finally, President Riult Rivera said that the “Colima Resplandece” festival is an excellent opportunity for families from Manzanillo, other parts of the state, and neighboring states to visit the capital of Colima and enjoy a show full of magic, music, and joy to welcome 2025.
